New Associate Director

Joseph Lo, PhD (Radiology) has been appointed as the Associate Director of the Duke Medical Physics Graduate Program. This is a 4-year term. In this role, Dr. Lo will serve as a member of the core executive leadership of the Program.

Joseph Lo received both his BSE and PhD degrees from the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Duke. He joined the Department of Radiology as a postdoctoral associate in 1993, and over the years as risen through the ranks to his current positions as Professor and Vice Chair for Research of Radiology. He is also the Director of the Carl E. Ravin Advanced Imaging Laboratories.

Dr. Lo has contributed in many ways to the Program. For the past 4 years, he was Director of the Diagnostic Imaging Track. He serves on numerous committees for the program, including 8 years as co-chair of the admissions committee. He has also been our webmaster since 2004 and was responsible for three major designs over the years. Dr. Lo has been the advisor or co-advisor to 16 MS and PhD students of DMPGP.

We would also like to thank Dr. Fang-Fang Yin, the outgoing Associate Director who has served in this capacity since the inception of the program.
