Program faculty Terry Yoshizumi and Ying Wu have been invited by IAEA as USA experts for the Romanian ELI-NP (Extreme Light Infrastructure-Nuclear Physics) Facility workshop to be held on July 11-15, 2016 in Vienna. Other participants include David Crawley, NC Radiation Protection, Chris Westerfeldt from Duke TUNL, and Pat Wallace from Duke FELL (Dr. Wu and Dr. Wallace will participate via. web-link). ELI-NP will create a new European laboratory to consistently investigate a very broad range of science domains, from new fields of fundamental physics, new nuclear physics and astrophysics topics, to applications in material science, life sciences and nuclear materials management.
