Celebrating the Class of 2025

On May 10, the Duke Medical Graduate Program proudly honored the outstanding achievements of the Class of 2025 at the annual Awards and Diplomas Ceremony, held at the Washington Duke Inn.

The event began with a celebration of excellence, as numerous awards were presented to both students and faculty in recognition of their dedication, scholarship, and service. These award recipients are listed below.

In his commencement address, the Program Director congratulated the Class of 2025 on their significant achievements and highlighted the exciting opportunities ahead in medical physics. He emphasized the unique blend of scientific expertise and clinical experience the graduates possess, positioning them to lead advancements in the field. Using a vivid metaphor of new stars forming in a galaxy, he encouraged graduates to shine brightly in their future careers while staying connected to their Duke community.

Zach Gude, Ph.D. graduate, reflected on the challenges and growth experienced throughout his journey in the Medical Physics program. He expressed gratitude for the mentorship and support from faculty, peers, and family, emphasizing the importance of community and collaboration. Zach encouraged his fellow graduates to remain curious and resilient as they embark on their future careers, carrying forward the spirit of innovation fostered at Duke.

During the second half of the ceremony, graduates were individually recognized and received their diplomas from their advisors. Each took a moment to express appreciation for the support and mentorship that shaped their journey.

The event concluded with a touching slideshow, capturing some of the most memorable moments from the students’ time in the program. A celebratory lunch followed, filled with joy, laughter, and well-deserved pride.

Congratulations to all our graduates and award recipients. We are incredibly proud of your accomplishments and look forward to the impact you will make in the years ahead.
