We have 3 distinguished outside speakers: Barbara Beckerman of Oak Ridge National Labs on research at ORNL, Lei Dong of MD Anderson on IGRT, and Michael King of U Mass on model observers. Physicians are one of our program’s strengths, and we offer talks from 3 this semester: Don Frush on the very hot topic of CT dose, Bennett Chin on translational SPECT imaging, and Chris Lascola on small molecule MRI imaging. Our research faculty provide cutting edge research updates: Joseph Lo on breast tomosynthesis, Martin Tornai on molecular breast imaging, Mark Oldham on imaging and radiation therapy, and James MacFall on MR monitoring of hyperthermia therapy. Last but not least, two seminars will be led by students, with Sam Brady and Sangroh Kim showing off their PhD research, and Samuel Johnston, Baiyu Chen, and Dominic Crotty previewimg their SPIE presentations.
