Oldham Named New Director

Mark Oldham, PhD (Radiation Oncology), has been named director of the Medical Physics Program, effective January 1, 2020.

Dr. Oldham joined Duke in 2004 as an associate professor. He received his PhD at the University of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne and did his post-doctoral work in the Joint Department of Physics at the ICR and Royal Marsden Hospital, in Sutton (London). His research interests include novel radiation and immunotherapy treatments, spatial fractionation, and methods and applications for 3D and advanced dosimetry. He has a longstanding interest in medical physics education and has taught in the Duke program for more than 10 years.

We would like to thank Ehsan Samei, PhD, for his leadership of the Medical Physics Program over the last several years and congratulate Dr. Oldham on his new role as director.
