Medical Physics Program welcomes new faculty member Dr. Scott Floyd, MD, PhD (Radiation Oncology). Dr. Floyd is a Radiation Oncologist specializing in brain tumors and knows the limit and side effects of current therapy, and devastating impact of brain tumors. In the Floyd Lab, scientists strive to improve brain tumor treatment by studying the DNA damage response of tumor and normal cells to identify underpinning molecular mechanisms and improve radiation therapy efficacy. Specifically, Floyd laboratory focuses on the effects of epigenetic writers and readers on the signaling network that senses DNA damage and initiates repair, cell cycle arrest and/or cell death.
